Oncology massage is an adaptation of massage techniques to safely work with those dealing with the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. I will design and modify the session according to the client’s physical, emotional and mental status. A General Health and Oncology Intake process informs the individualized care. Some adaptation to the massage treatment includes, but is not limited to the duration of session, draping, positioning, massage stroke direction, and pressure adjustments.

Unite for Her is a non-profit organization focusing on integrative complementary oncology care for breast and ovarian cancer members. Oncology massage is an essential part of the program since its inception. Oncology Massage is the adaptation of massage techniques to safely treat individuals who are experiencing the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. The adaptations may be related to the positioning, pacing, pressure, area of the body treated or avoided and the timing or length of a massage session.
I have been a Unite for HER provider from 2012 to present.
I have treated hundreds of clients throughout the many stages of living with cancer. From initial diagnosis to post surgery/treatment, massage can find a place in your wellness, comfort and recovery. In addition to my private practice, I work with the Unite for HER organization as an expert speaker on massage and hands-on therapist during their wellness days.
