I have been a client of Chris' for several years.
The sessions have helped me relax. I didn't realize how much tension I carry in my body.
Chris has also addressed specific areas, especially my back. I like the private setting. I am not just another massage (client). Chris takes the time to check my overall health and asks about specific target areas for that session.
Scheduling is easy and Christine helps if needed. She has evening and Saturday hours in
addition to daytime. I have been very pleased with my massages and will continue to schedule with Chris.
I see Chris for both Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Therapeutic massage.
After receiving the Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), I have experienced an energized feeling after feeling fatigued for a while previously. It has also helped keep my lymphedema under control.
After the therapeutic massage I felt relaxed and rejuvenated and that has helped with my stress levels. I also noticed some of my bruises disappearing a few days after the massage. I always have a great experience when visiting Chris. Chris is a highly skilled therapist; She has a gift and that gift is in her hands. She is also friendly, knowledgeable and a professional.
What I also like about Chris, is that she has continued her education over the years and she incorporates the experience with you. The private setting provides a serene atmosphere and is super clean. Also, the scheduling system online is so easy to use, another plus!
I was referred to Chris by my physical therapist for a pinched nerve in my back. I had never had
a massage before and was apprehensive. Who is this person that I’m going to undress for?
Yikes! Chris made me feel completely comfortable and respected my modesty as she does with all her clients. I have continued with Chris now for many years although I’ve never had another pinched nerve. Chris is a caring person who listens to her clients and her massages are restorative, of both mind and body.
I booked appointments with Chris all through Covid, because I know that Chris keeps a
meticulous massage space, and takes all precautions for her clients. Chris is an active member of the community and supports other small businesses. Chris is a wonderful resource for my health and life.
[CalmDown Massage Therapy] has been a core facet of my personal health regimen - I use massage for personal health; to minimize RSIs working at a desk and for recovery from sports...
The private studio environment is peaceful, quiet and convenient for me, and [Christine] has an exceptional touch and the rare ability to find and target specific areas of tension in a way which feels like a conversation instead of a rote routine. I highly recommend her practice to anyone who is looking for regular or even sporadic massage therapy.
I have been with Chris for two years since my cancer diagnosis. Through the intense stress of my surgery and treatment her care was, without a doubt, my salvation.
Her studio, her being, her practice…..so personal, intended to calm and to heal. Every time I was with her was fortifying.
Now I am a survivor with other stress issues. I see her every week or two.
Downsizing. Moving. Creating a business.
Chris is a partner, with me wherever I am. Bringing a state of peace and
power to me for the moment so that I can move forward with strength and confidence.
Don’t hesitate for a minute to call!
I was diagnosed with lympehedema in 2007, after breast cancer treatment and began seeing a therapist to manage some of the side effects of that condition several years later. I was very upset when that therapist retired, but then very thankful when she recommended Christine Sexton to take over my care.
Christine's studio is clean, welcoming and serene. During my first 60-minute visit for Manual Lymphatic Drainage, she correctly noted issues with my lower back and suggested that I schedule a 90-minute session for my next visit so she could concentrate on that area as well. I began 90-minute sessions after that and always left feeling so much better, and the benefits lasted longer than any massages I'd had in the past.
I wholeheartedly recommend Christine to help you with your issues, but particularly if you suffer from lympehedema or any side effects from breast cancer surgery.
I look forward to my monthly full-body massages. Christine’s treatment sessions have helped me with my lower back pain, as well as my stress levels. One may think that massages are expensive; however, I have massages to invest in my health.
Christine’s massages have helped me to de-stress and relax. Massages have also improved my immune system. I used to get head colds at least a couple times a year. This has not happened for quite some time, and I feel healthier.
I am 87 years old, and I look forward to my massage sessions with Chris. She is concerned with my day to day health, and she always asks if I have any current aches or pains that she can work on.
She has an amazing ability to detect where pressure is needed or not needed. Chris recently suspected a blood clot in my calf, which was confirmed to be a very large hematoma. She is a jewel.
Chris fit me into her schedule when I really needed help. I was in between big trips, feeling very burnt out, anxious and physically tense. She took great care of me, relaxed my nerves and body, and worked on what was most needed. She is so good at seeing what’s going on, focusing on her client completely, and addressing whatever is needed specific to each person.
Highly recommend!
I became aware of Calm Down Massage Therapy several years ago during treatment for breast cancer. The massages helped with the stress I was feeling from chemo and radiation. Later Manual Lymph Drainage soothed me when I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I continue to have a monthly treatment because Chris is another professional monitoring my health. Before each treatment, she asks about my current health and may tailor that treatment for what is best for me.
It's easy to make appointments on-line and her schedule allows plenty of time for each person.
Chris is professional and friendly. There's a pep in my step and the world always seems brighter after a treatment.
I'm an over the road truck driver with lower back and leg problems. As part of my leg condition I was told by my doctor to wear compression stocking for better circulation and to relieve the tired, achy legs that bad circulation causes.
When I contacted Christine, I told her my issue to put on and take off compression stockings is a chore and I preferred to keep them on.....not only did she make me feel comfortable, she worked the whole time on my legs and lower back and I felt great when I left, and for a few days after.
I would highly recommend Christine.
Chris was a bright spot in my recovery from breast cancer many years ago. Not only is she incredibly intuitive, she has such an understanding and knowledge of the various issues that arise with reconstruction and scar tissue, particularly when a donor site is involved. I have since moved from the area, but see Chris every chance I get when I am in town. I also referred my mom to her a few years ago. I am very selective with therapists that work on my mom, and it was a perfect match. My mom has chronic pain and Chris is pretty much the only therapy that actually brings her relief. I appreciate Chris and all of the wonderful work she does, especially United for Her.
